CFCs and Fossil Fuels Have Short, Long Tail Effects
Often when considering the environmental hazards presented by human behavior, we fail to
see further than the direct effect on our planet. However, if we examine further, we can
gather that our behavior is affecting not only the earth we live on but also the general
human condition. There are essentially two levels to the damage posed by destructive
environmental actions. Let’s examine each of them in depth for a better comprehension of
this hazard.

Hi Everyone! Thanks for all of your thoughts and humor! It is greatly
appreciated. So here is the latest.
IKE will be coming in between Freeport and Houston. These two cities are
only 50 miles apart. So, in essence, Houston is going to get hit hard for
being on the dirty end of it.
The surge in Galveston Bay will push floodwaters into Houston, damaging areas
that include the nation’s biggest refineries and NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
The Ship Channel will also get a huge part of the surge. So I am sure that
those big ships will be anchored pretty well. With the surge being predicted (more…)

GreenHunter Energy, Inc. began operations at it’s Houston, Texas,
biodiesel refinery, which can produce 105 million gallons per year
(mgpy). That capacity narrowly beats out the Imperium Renewables’
biodiesel refinery in Washington State, making it the largest
biodiesel plant in the United States.
