Picture this in your not too distant green future:
Above and along the right-of-way of the US Interstate Highway System runs the Interstate Traveler Hydrogen Super Highway. A collection of vital municipal utilities bundled into a “Conduit Cluster” providing a full integration of solar powered hydrogen production and distribution system and perched on top at tree-top level is a high speed magnetic levitation (MagLev) on-demand public transit rail. Enabling people to ride in comfort at speeds exceeding 250 miles per hour in publicly owned transit vehicles that share the same maglev rail with privately owned transit vehicles. Utilizing automated TCP/IP traffic control system using ports, and sub-networks. The vehicles come in several different versions to accommodate passengers, automobiles, freight, and even complete triage and trauma units. (more…)

Coming to a Rooftop Near You: Maglev Wind Turbines
Vertical wind turbines put pressure on bearings, but one company, Enviro Energies, has a better idea: maglev or magnetic levitation of the turbine so that it will turn, not on bearings that need lubrication and servicing, but on a virtually frictionless force field of magnetism. In addition, Enviro sees its new vertical turbine as suitable for city rooftops, as its design takes even light wind currents from any direction and converts them to usable electrical power. See a Discovery Channel denmonstration of how the turbines work. Then jump over to their products page for more information and pricing.
… as the green future unfolds.

A New Paradigm – Instead of defining the “mass” as large groups moving in large vehicles stopping repeatedly at relatively few destinations…SkyTran moves tiny clusters of people (1 or 2) non-stop across a network of many more destinations in a fleet of small vehicles.
Energy efficient – Powered by electricity. Equivalent to over 200 miles per gallon of gasoline.
Low cost – Least expensive of all options to install and operate. Ten times less expensive than light rail.
No waiting, fixed routes or timetables – Takes you straight to your destination. No wasting time stopping at every station. (more…)

Magnetic Levitation, or Maglev
Ever wonder what happened to the jet packs, that was going to have us jetting
through the air like the Jetsons? Well, turns out they couldn’t get past the
20 second fuel limit. Then there was the monorail, or the updated version, the
maglev. Those futuristic, sleek, cool trains that glide almost silently over
head atop modern concrete superstructures. (more…)
