Renewable Energy Storage

Author: User ImageLinda  //  Category: Going Green
The number of utilities interested in renewable power is growing and more large
scale projects are being implemented, but the wider acceptance of these technologies
is still being hampered by their intermittent nature. Improved power storage will
increase the use of electricity from solar and wind power. The result will be power
on demand instead of when the sun shines or the wind blows. And of course the faster
renewable energy sources grow the slower the increase of greenhouse gases by
replacing carbon-based fuels.

With the exception of predictable peak-load requirements, most electricity demand
is for a continuous, reliable supply. If there were some way that large amounts of
electricity from intermittent producers such as solar and wind could be stored Read more…

Run Your Car on Water and Gas!

You may have heard of this process referred to as “Brown’s Gas”.

Turn your current car into a water burning Hybrid.  Run your car on water
and gas and double your mileage!! You will notice on the left hand side of
this blog a widget for running your car on water.  I told you before that
I would not advertise anything on this site that I had not at least
checked out or purchased.  Well, I purchased this and was going to wait Read more…

Another Green Corporation

By using the technological equivalent of the power of lightning, a company called
Plasco, has a goal to turn our garbage problem into a profitable energy solution.

Plasmagasification is the process of turning waste into electricity.  Plasma is
sometimes called the 4th state of matter. The first state is solid, add heat to a
solid and it becomes the second state, liquid.  Add heat to a liquid and it is Read more…

A Car That Makes Its Own Fuel

Author: User ImageLinda  //  Category: Going Green
What if you had a car that made its own fuel? Dr. Jerry Woodall at Purdue University,
accidentally found a way. One day while doing semiconductor experiments in his lab, he
melted aluminum and gallium. When he added water to clean the melt out, he got a big
poof of steam and hydrogen.

Hydrogen on demand!

With this alloy you don’t have to worry about becoming a flaming rocket on the highway.
This stuff is safe to move around and has a high energy content and can be converted
into hydrogen when you need it.

You will just buy a tank full of pellets and plug it into your car. Add water and
away you go. It will reduce our dependency on foreign oil. The raw materials
(aluminum ore) is located in the United States. For instance, the southwest.

Dr. Woodall is now working on getting golf carts running utilizing this method.

Man, stuff like this just gives me goosebumps!

What If?

Author: User ImageLinda  //  Category: Going Green
You know, the feeling of the oil companies and car companies in cohoots
together is getting bigger by the day.

What if the car manufacturers have been figuring out how to produce cheap
hydrogen vehicles all the while pouring expensive hybrids into the market to
work out the bugs of their future energy efficient vehicles. Meanwhile, the big
oil companies are currently using the money they gouge from us to plan conversion
of the gas station into hydrogen stations and stockpiling of hydrogen reserves,
figuring out transportation methods which would be the about same as present day
chemicals and gas.

The car manufacaturers are awaiting the go ahead from big oil for the
day of conversion to announce their cheap hydrogen vehicles.

Then add insult to injury, the rich keep getting richer…

You know that this is possible. Is anyone out there thinking the same?????
