FedEx Shows Off Their New Green Machine On ‘America’s Main Street’

FedEx Corp. celebrated the expansion of its alternative-energy vehicle fleet with a road trip for the first all-electric FedEx parcel delivery truck in the United States.

Four purpose-built electric trucks optimized for electric operation from the wheels up are slated to hit the road in the Los Angeles area starting in June 2010. By the end of June, the FedEx alternative energy fleet will have grown to 1,869 vehicles in service worldwide. Go to earth911.org to find a recycling site near you. Just type in what you
want to recycle or hit ‘more’ and select from the list, add your zip, city,
or state and hit ‘go’. Now don’t expect to find many places that recycle CFLs.
Because of the mercury worries involved with these bulbs, those that do will
normally only accept spent CFLs from their area residents.

There are numerous places on the internet that will ship you a kit to hold
your spent fluorescent and/or HIDs (high intensity discharge lamps), etc.
