Have you ever noticed on the news coverage of horrific events, the people jumping
into a freezing river to save others or racing into a burning building to rescue
victims, never, ever stop to ask about religious affliations, ethnic origins,
sexual orintation, or the native language of the rescuee? They don’t care. Because
at that moment, the only thing that matters is perserving life, even sometimes, at (more…)

This weekend may be the last to get ready for winter. So what do you do?
If you live in the north, your fuel bill ran approx. $977 last year and this
next year, it will go up to approx. $1182. A huge jump at a rate of 20%.
So what can you do to reduce this?
You can change out the filter in the furnace. Rule of thumb is to change it
out every 3 months. If you have a contract for your furnace, call and make an (more…)

Forced Green is going to harness the wind. How? Vertical Wind Power.
Vertical Wind Power will not harm birds, bees, etc, as horizontal wind generators have a tendency to do.
Living off retirement savings (with penalties!),it is not economically feasible to fund this project without support. This project’s goal is to build a working vertical wind power system, as economically as possible, that will noticeably offset the enormous cost of being dependant on the grid. Once accomplished it is the project’s intent to provide this service; labor, materials, et al, free if possible, but realistically has cheap as your support would allow, to those who need it the most – senior citizens. Those who live on fixed incomes, that have to make a decision between buying food, medicine or paying their electric bill.
Please donate! Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
As the project goes forward, updates will be provided that includes: technical data, how to’s, do’s and don’ts, and cost data.
Another way to assist is to click on the advertising. Many of them I have written about, of those, I have either researched the product or have actually purchased. I do not advertise on items that have no value to you, they are all about going green. So, help your favorite bloggers out by buying from a blog.
Forced Green works very hard to provide the latest and greatest information concerning going green in a variety of fields. Forced Green depends on your donations in it’s continuing effort in providing you with what can be done today along with the green technologies that tomorrow is bringing. So, to those who have donated, and those who continue to donate, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

I am sure that you have heard or seen these before, but I feel the need to share them
with you to help out in your everyday living.
- Peel a banana from the bottom and you won’t have to pick the little “stringy
things” off of it. That’s how the primates do it. Take your bananas apart when you
get home from the store. If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.
- Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil. It will stay fresh much
longer and not mold!
- Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating.
- Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for cooking. (more…)

Sometimes I wonder who our government really works for, the people or big business.
More precisely, Big Oil.
The U. S. Government sets gas pumps to 60 degrees F. That means gas is being
dispensed as if it is always 60 degrees outside. Since gas contracts in cooler
temperatures, this standard may work in Iceland, but here in the Tropic of Hades,
it is grossly unfair. In places, like Texas, the temperature is alot higher in those
underground gas tanks. Especially in the late afternoon, we are often in the mid to
high 90′s, even hotter. There are 12 states (Texas included), which has average fuel (more…)

I am sure that your Crocs are getting a little worn by now. The bottoms are
starting to smooth out and are probably scratched, stained, etc.
Why not recycle them?
Your local Crocs retailer has a recycle bin and/or you can ship them to Soles
United.
Soles United (a non-profit organization) takes them and recycles the shoes, boxes them up and ships them out to organizations that can make sure the shoes reach
those who need them. Their goal is to donate more than two million
pairs of recycled Crocs shoes worldwide. They are also helped by
Brother’s Brother Foundation and Feed the Children.
Go to http://www.solesunited.com and really see how they work!
Their next stop is to bring 10,000 pairs to Haiti.
Why not join the effort!
