Have you ever thought of using a search engine for items you need for around the house, instead of paying full price at a box store, look at this site? Imagine the savings you could get during these tough economic times.

seach engineecofreek.com is a search engine that searches the web for free and ‘for swap/trade’ items people no longer need or want from over 45+ major sources, providing the most diverse and accurate results anywhere in the world.

Also included are items for trade like books, sports equipment, antiques, automobiles, bicycles, motorcycles, CDs/DVDs, computers, property, seeds/gardening supplies, and lots more (including pets looking for new homes).  They also encourage people to exchange and re-use items though their search engine and also ‘places to give things away’ section. Feel free to recommend them new resources as well, they have a section to link to other environmental/green sites. Search engines also help you in getting you traffic.

Foods That May Cause You Problems

food There are some experts out there who refuse to eat the following foods.

Canned Tomatoes - Why not eat these? There is a resin lining in the tin can that contain a synthetic estrogen that has been linked to reproduction problems, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. The acid content of tomatoes causes the estrogen to leach into the food. So, purchase tomatoes in glass bottles as they do not have the resin lining.

Corn Fed Beef - cattle are supposed to eat grass. Farmers are needing to fatten them up quickly to get them to market faster. (more…)

Easy ways to go green and help save the planet

green1. Let your computer have a well-earned rest! If you are going to be away from your machine for over 20 minutes, make sure you leave it in sleep mode. It uses less electricity and is better for the computer.

2. Recycle, recycle, recycle! The government has been encouraging us for a few years now to make sure we put our cans and bottles into the household crates provided so they can be recycled. However, as it is not law many of us still throw them away with the rest of the rubbish. Come on guys, is it really that difficult to separate items into different containers? Why not make that extra effort today and try to remember that bottles and cans are not rubbish. (more…)
