Thinking of Building a Treehouse?

O2 Sustainability Treehouse

Dustin Feider has been developing the perfect eco-friendly tree sanctuary since 2005. He came up with a unique design along with a green take on the old version of a childhood dream, a treehouse. Dustin was inspired by the construction of Buckminister Fuller’s infamous geodesic dome. He discovered that he could utilize less material and construct a stable structure without harming the tree.

Geodesic structures are first and foremost load distributable. Each joint on the geodesic can be used to hang the entire structure without compromising the integrity or the tree. Every joint is created equally in the context of hanging, which gives a lot of options when installation takes place.

He builds it all from 100 % sustainable materials and ensures that the geo does not intrude on the growth of the tree once in place. You can have hardwood floorings, interconnected bridges, elecrtic winches, water-tight seals and sophisticated lighting solutions to make your treehouse a place for all occasions.

There are kits available for you to pick from and they will even install them for you. Depending on your wallet, there are a variety to choose from. A great idea for the present and the future. Which one do you want? Visit their treehouse site and make a selection.

As you can see there are a variety and beautiful at that. Hope you enjoyed this as much as I.

Treehouses ….. as the green future unfolds.

I love the idea of living in a tree house like this, I think they are incredibly neat! I don’t know how safe it would be in tornado prone areas, though.

  3. Linda Says:

Hi Storm … Probably just as safe as anything in the line of a tornado. This certainly will not hold up. However, with the way that they are installed, it is a possibility that it would stay there as long as the tree did.

That is really cool. I would love to have something like that, in my backyard.

  5. Linda Says:

Hi Hillary … I would too if I had some trees! 😀
