Is Greed Trumping Expertise in Ebbing The Flow?
Excuse me BP, but I have a couple of questions. I know you are kind of busy and all but, are you trying to save that well?
I am not an petroleum engineer but it seems to me with all your failures – Top Hat, Top Kill, and Top Throw Down Some Tires, whatever, you keep wanting to tap the oil gushing out of the broke pipe! (more…)

As All Eyes Are On The Gulf Coast Devastation, Green Is Slipping In Through The Back Door
On March 19, 2010, ECOtality, headquartered in Tempe, Arizona and its subsidiary, eTec (Electric Transportation Engineering Corporation) announced The EV Project. The EV Project was created last August when eTec was awarded a federal stimulus grant of nearly $100 million from the U.S. Department of Energy.
The EV Project will support electric vehicles with home-base, commercial and public chargers in major markets in five states: Arizona (Phoenix & Tucson metropolitan areas), Washington (Seattle area), Oregon (Portland, Salem, Corvallis and Eugene), California (San Diego) and Tennessee. Initial infrastructure deployment begins this summer, paving the way for the successful rollout of electric transportation across America. (more…)

Criminally Appalling Disregard For Life and Nature In A Quest For The Almighty Dollar
Last Sunday night 60 Minutes interviewed a walking, talking miracle – Mike Williams, at work as the chief electronics technician on the Deepwater Horizon the night it exploded. Employed by Transocean, the largest off-shore drilling company and owners of the rig, leased by BP the nation’s biggest oil and gas producer. One of the most sophisticated drilling rigs in the world at a cost of 350 million (USD), with a crew of 126. (more…)

Ocean Currents Gives Plentiful Clean Energy
On March 29, 2010, Ocean Renewable Power Company (ORPC), based out of Portland, Maine, launched the Energy Tide 2 (ET2), its Turbine Generator Unit (TGU), the largest ocean energy device deployed in U.S. waters. Designed to harness 60 kilowatts of tidal power (enough electricity to power 20 homes), in Cobscook Bay near Eastport, Maine. It is generating green, renewable energy used at Coast Guard Station Eastport. (more…)

Note To BP: This Is How To Harness The Oceans Energy Without Screwing Up The Whole Dang Planet!
“Minesto” means tide and dragon in Greek. Formed in 2007, Minesto is based both in Sweden and the U.K., and has invented a new type of tidal power generator they call “underwater kites”, that remains submerged and tied to the seabed by a 328 foot (100 meter) cable, harnessing energy from the motion of the ocean. To Run Your “Green” Commercials During A Month Of Accidents, Insults Our Intelligence
As the news on the astounding amount of oil escaping from the from the Deepwater Horizon wellhead in the Gulf of Mexico grows more bleak by the hour, another oil rig accident about 50 miles (80.4 kilometers), from the first disaster site has taken place. The Coast Guard reported Friday (April 30), that a barge mounted oil drilling rig on its way to a scrap yard overturned about 80 miles (128.7 kilometers), west-southwest of New Orleans. It has the capacity to carry about 20,000 gallons of diesel fuel, but Coast Guard officials did not know how much fuel was on board. Although no fuel leaks have been found (heard that before), as a precaution, 500 feet (152.4 meters), of boom has been set up around the rig to contain any fuel leaks. (more…)
