“Teach your children what we have taught ours, that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. The earth does not belong to man; man belongs to the earth. Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.”
- Chief Seattle, more than 150 years ago.
Greenhouse Effect – The rise in temperature that the Earth experiences because certain gases in the atmosphere (water vapor, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane, etc.) trap energy from the sun. Without these gases, heat would escape back into space (think Mars). Because of how they warm our world, these gases are referred to as greenhouse gases. Making these gases in the atmosphere behave much like the glass panes in a greenhouse, letting in light but keeping the heat from escaping. Without the greenhouse effect, the Earth would not be warm enough for humans to live, (Earth’s average temperature would be about 60°F colder). But if the greenhouse effect becomes stronger, it could make the Earth warmer than usual. Even a little extra warming may cause problems for humans, plants, and animals. Some scientist say an increase of 5 1/2°F (3°C) could be the tipping point. (more…)

From The Past Into The Future
New World Home is a company that designs and builds historically inspired green manufactured homes. They don’t look like manufactured homes and they certainly don’t resemble any green home you’ve ever seen. But green they are, utilizing environmentally sanctioned products and practices, and ultra-efficient manufacturing methodologies. Effectively bridging the gap between new and old. The end result represents a breakthrough in residential housing allowing New World Home to trade-mark the term – the New Old Green Modular (NOGM) home. (more…)

It is Time to Respect Mother Earth!
In the 1960′s James Lovelock during his work for NASA on methods of detecting life on Mars, formulated the Gaia Hypothesis (named after the Greek supreme goddess of Earth). Based on the idea that Earth is a self-regulating living system, a complex entity involving the Earth’s biosphere, atmosphere, oceans, and land, in totality regulates the conditions on the planet to make its physical environment (in particular temperature and chemistry of the atmosphere) on the planet more hospitable to the species which constitute its “life”.
