Make your search Lijit!
I have found a new search for your blog and it does not matter what segment you
are in. Grace Boyle is a product evangelist for Lijit Search. She convinced me
to try out Lijit. They are doing something different with search and I’m sure it
would help your blog become even better, by giving your conscious readers an
insightful and comprehensive search.
Lijit search allows your readers to access all of the content that you’re
producing online, including your trusted network. This means that when someone
does a search, they’ll get results from your blog content, from the Delicious
account, from the Flickr account, from the Twitter account, and from your
blogroll. Essentially, if people are coming to your blog because they trust
what you and the contributors are writing, it follows that they will trust
what you’re bookmarking, what you’re tweeting, and who you’re linking to.
Besides giving your readers more, Lijit helps you, the blog publisher, by giving
you stats about what your readers are searching for, what they’re clicking on,
and what searches they’re doing that return no results. This is important
information for better understanding and serving your readers. By adding Lijit’s
search, it not only searched your blogroll and keeps readers on your site, but
it will allow your readers to find anything you’ve written, talked, photographed
or bookmarked online regarding your blog. It increases reader engagement.
You can test drive the Lijit widget right here. It is on the right side panel.
In addition, they have recently released a WordPress plugin that allows you
to hijack your current WP search bar and have the results powered by Lijit.
By using this plugin, you don’t have to install the widget in your sidebar
and mess with your blog’s design. You can download the plugin here:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-lijit-wijit/installation/
You can sign up for their free service on their homepage, by clicking on the green ‘get started’ button.
I am very pleased with the results and Grace just cannot not help you enough.
Their staff is exceptional in assisting your every need. Give Lijit a whirl…
you will not be sorry.
